  • Nevada added 3,200 private sector jobs, or 0.2 percent. on a seasonally adjusted basis during May. In the prior month, Nevada added 6,200 jobs. Nevada private sector payroll employment has increased in 10 of the past 12 months.

  • Nationally, private sector payroll jobs rose by 229,000 jobs in May, or 0.2 percent. Nevada ranks 3rd in the nation for percentage gain in private sector payroll employment over the past 12 months.

  • The best performing sectors on a seasonally adjusted basis during May were Professional and Business Services (2,200) and Education and Health Services (2,000).

  • The poorest performing sectors during the month were Other Services (-400) and Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (-700).

  • The best performing sectors during the last 12 months were Leisure and Hospitality (11,200) and Construction (9,000).

  • The poorest performing sectors during the last 12 months were Other Services (300) and Information (-100).
