  • Idaho added 7,300 private sector jobs, or 1 percent. on a seasonally adjusted basis during May. In the prior month, Idaho lost 1,400 jobs. Idaho private sector payroll employment has increased in 9 of the past 12 months.

  • Nationally, private sector payroll jobs rose by 229,000 jobs in May, or 0.2 percent. Idaho ranks 4th in the nation for percentage gain in private sector payroll employment over the past 12 months.

  • The best performing sectors on a seasonally adjusted basis during May were Leisure and Hospitality (1,800) and Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (1,700).

  • The poorest performing sectors during the month were Mining and Logging (-100) and Information (-200).

  • The best performing sectors during the last 12 months were Government (6,000) and Education and Health Services (5,700).

  • The poorest performing sectors during the last 12 months were Financial Activities (-300) and Other Services (-900).
