Weekly Economic Update: July 10 – July 14, 2017

The Weekly Economic Update's Chart of the Week features a look at job openings and hirings. The number of job openings increased to a series high of 6.0 million on the last business day of April while hires fell to 5.1 million, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics

June 2017 Jobs Review

222,000 nonfarm payrolls jobs were added in June, which was more than expected. The headline unemployment rate (U-3) ticked up slightly to 4.4% as more people entered the labor force.
