JEC to Hold Hearing on "Expanding Consumer Choice and Addressing

Washington, DC—Joint Economic Committee Chairman Robert F. Bennett announced today that the committee will hold a hearing on “Expanding Consumer Choice and Addressing ‘Adverse Selection’ Concerns in Health Insurance,” on Wednesday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m.

Plans to increase consumers’ choice and control of health insurance arrangements often face the criticism that they will trigger adverse selection that jeopardizes current health insurance coverage. The hearing will address these concerns and explore how employers and insurers can offer better choices without adverse consequences.
