"Mrs. Thatcher, as she liked to be called, brought Britain back from the brink of financial ruin. She restored Britain's confidence and enabled Britain to play a role of significant leadership in the world.”

“She demonstrated for all to see how, together, a sound currency and policies that spur economic growth can restore prosperity to a great nation.”

“The people of the United States have lost a great friend. My deepest sympathies go to her family and the people of the United Kingdom to whom she provided such magnificent leadership.”
