JEC Hearing Advisory, "Reducing Waste, Fraud and Abuse Through Innovation: How AI & Data Can Improve Government Efficiency."
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC) will hold a hearing on Wednesday, April 9th titled Reducing Waste, Fraud and Abuse Through Innovation: How AI & Data Can Improve Government Efficiency.
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to be integrated in the workplace, it presents a unique opportunity to reduce costs, improve government efficiency, and enhance services for the public. Ranging from streamlining payment systems to boosting worker productivity, AI can support agencies to operate more effectively and better serve constituents. Despite this potential, government adoption remains slow due to various institutional barriers. This hearing aims to identify ways in which Congress can support agencies in their ongoing efforts to enhance data systems and incorporate technology to improve operational efficiency, while also drawing insights from the private sector on innovations to optimize output and reduce fraud.
