Tiberi Statement on November Jobs Report
U. S. Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-OH), chairman of the Joint Economic Committee, today issued the following statement regarding the employment report for November 2017 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics:
“Today’s report re-enforces the trend we’ve been seeing that growing confidence in our economy is helping employers create jobs. Any time we have a job increase above 200,000, it is a good month. I am pleased that the economy is growing faster; the third-quarter GDP growth rate was revised up to 3.3 percent, and job creation has picked up again after the hurricanes.
“Despite this solid jobs report, our work is not done. To realize the full potential of our economic strength, we must enact tax reform that allows individuals and families to keep more of their hard-earned money and lowers rates for employers enabling them to compete on a level playing field with their international counterparts. This combined with our continued effort to reduce burdensome, unnecessary regulations will put us on the path toward a brighter future for all Americans.”
Note: Today’s report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that the U.S. economy gained 228,000 nonfarm payroll jobs in November and the unemployment rate remained at 4.1 percent.
