JEC Chairman-designate Lee Applauds Robust GDP Growth
Today, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), Chairman-designate of the Joint Economic Committee, released the following statement on the Bureau of Economic Analysis’ GDP growth estimate for 2018:
“The latest GDP figures show economic growth at the end of last year beating expectations. Consumer spending and business investments spurred growth over the fourth quarter of 2018, and GDP rose at an annualized rate of 2.6 percent versus the previous quarter. The story for 2018 is even better, as GDP rose 2.9 percent compared with 2017, and GDP in 2018 outperformed 2017’s GDP numbers in every quarter. The economic expansion remains robust and will soon count as the longest on record.”
