Pending home sales fell 0.6% in October to 102.1. Housing starts for September and October are delayed due to data collection issues related to the government shutdown, according to the Census Bureau. Building permits increased 5.2% in September to an annual pace of 0.974 million units and increased 6.2% in October to an annual pact of 1.034 million units. The Case-Shiller home price index was up 1.0% in September and up 13.3% over the year. Durable orders fell 2.0% in October. Initial jobless claims fell 10,000 to 316,000 for the week ended 11/23.

• Building permits increased 5.2% in September to an annual pace of 0.974 million units and increased 6.2% in October to an annual pace of 1.034 million.

• The Case-Shiller home price index was up 1.0% in September and up 13.3% over the year. The DC component was up 0.4% for the month and up 7.0% over the year.

• Durable orders fell 2.0% in October. Excluding transportation, orders were down 0.1%.

• Initial jobless claims fell 10,000 to 316,000 for the week ended November 23rd.
