Coats Statement on Indiana’s November Employment Numbers
WASHINGTON, DC – Joint Economic Committee Chairman Dan Coats (R-Ind.) today issued the following statement regarding Indiana’s November employment numbers, which were reported today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics:
“As we close 2015, Indiana’s economy remains on the right track. Indiana’s unemployment rate stands at its lowest point since 2001. Our state’s continued economic progress has been made possible by pro-growth policies, a healthy business climate and the talents of the Hoosier workforce.”
Details about Indiana’s November Employment Numbers
- Indiana’s unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.4% in November.
- The Hoosier labor force grew by 7,200 workers in November.
- Indiana nonfarm payroll jobs grew by 4,000, with 2,800 jobs added in construction.
- Indiana boasts one of the largest declines (1.5 percentage points) in its unemployment rate over the past 12 months.
- Indiana has added 58,900 jobs over that same time frame.
