Weekly Economic Update: February 18-22, 2013
Housing starts declined 8.5% in January to a pace of 0.890 million units. The topline producer price index rose 0.2% in January. The topline consumer price index remained unchanged in January. Existing home sales increased 0.4% in January to an annual rate of 4.92 million. Initial jobless claims rose 20,000 to 362,000 for the week ended 2/16.

• The topline producer price index rose 0.2% in January. The core PPI increased 0.2%.
• The topline consumer price index remained unchanged in January. The core CPI increased 0.3%.
• Existing home sales increased 0.4% in January to an annual rate of 4.92 million.
• Initial jobless claims rose 20,000 to a level of 362,000 for the week ended February 16th.
