Washington, D.C. – The Joint Economic Committee (JEC), chaired by Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney, held a hearing on the Economic Outlook for the United States with Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Hart Senate Office Building, Room 216.  Chairman Bernanke evaluated our current economic situation, as well as the longer term outlook, and provided insights into the ongoing government efforts to restore financial stability and promote economic recovery.
