Updated calculations by the JEC Democrats find that the strong growth in wages under the Biden-Harris administration has been spread out across the country, with average wages and salaries growing faster than average prices in nearly every state.

This coincided with state-by-state employment growth throughout this period, and shows how the strong economic growth spurred by Democrats’ investments in workers and families has been felt throughout the country.

Older workers, generally defined as those aged 55 and above, make vital contributions to the U.S. economy.

Apprenticeship programs combine on-the-job training with classroom instruction to teach workers the practical skills and background knowledge to work in lucrative occupations that require distinct skills. A number of apprenticeship models exist, both formal and informal, that all aim to increase career opportunities outside of the traditional higher-education model.

In a well-functioning labor market, strong demand for workers gives all workers more power to bargain for higher wages, which ensures workers benefit from stronger economic growth.

In the fall of 2021, the digital asset market reached a record-high $3 trillion market capitalization. Since then, it has lost over $2 trillion in total value as a combination of rising interest rates and high-profile digital asset scandals made these risky digital assets less appealing to investors.

As the United States continues its recovery from the pandemic recession, immigrant workers are essential to the continued growth of the labor force and overall productivity.

Accessible and affordable health insurance is critical to maintaining a healthy nation, both physically and financially. For workers and families, health insurance can greatly reduce—and even eliminate—out-of-pocket medical costs. Higher rates of health insurance coverage also create economy-wide benefits, including more productive communities and greater economic mobility.

Action by Democrats in Congress and the current administration prevented millions of families from falling below the poverty line in 2021. Even as the coronavirus pandemic and ensuring recession threatened the lives and economic well-being of countless Americans, federal policies were remarkably effective at mitigating the economic effects of the pandemic.
