JEC Chairman Casey’s Statement on September 2012 Employment Report

WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), Chairman of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released the following statement on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ September 2012 jobs report showing that 114,000 total nonfarm jobs were added and the unemployment rate dropped to 7.8 percent.

“Today’s report marks the 31st consecutive month of private sector job growth. While we continue to add jobs, it is imperative that Republicans and Democrats work together to ensure that our fiscal house is in order and our economic recovery remains on track. Too many Americans remain out of work and it is important that we work in a bipartisan way to strengthen the economy and spur further growth.”
