Statement from JEC Vice Chair Klobuchar on October 2013 Employment Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Vice Chair of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released the following statement on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ October 2013 jobs report showing that 204,000 total nonfarm jobs were added and the unemployment rate ticked up from 7.2% to 7.3%:

“October’s employment numbers show that our country continues to add jobs, but there are still too many Americans searching for work. We need to move past the political brinkmanship and focus on bipartisan solutions that encourage growth, and I will be working with both sides of the aisle as we approach important decisions about our fiscal policy.”
