Statement from JEC Vice Chair Klobuchar on November 2013 Employment Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Vice Chair of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released the following statement on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ November 2013 jobs report showing that 203,000 total nonfarm jobs were added and the unemployment rate dropped from 7.3% to 7.0%:

“November’s employment numbers showed continued progress on the road to economic recovery, but our work is not done. This report underscores the need to work towards a bipartisan budget agreement that will stop us from lurching from crisis to crisis and provide much-needed certainty for our businesses and families that drive growth. We are on the cusp of great economic opportunity and now is not the time to step back – now is the time for Democrats and Republicans to come together and get this done.”
