Statement from JEC Vice Chair Klobuchar on August 2013 Employment Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Vice Chair of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released the following statement on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ August 2013 jobs report showing that 169,000 total nonfarm jobs were added and the unemployment rate ticked down from 7.4% to 7.3%:

“The job growth in August is a positive sign that the economy continues to steadily improve. But we’re still not where we need to be and as we approach vital debates about how to move our economy forward, I will continue to focus on bipartisan policies to accelerate growth and give certainty to families and businesses.”
