WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), Chairman of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released the following statement on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ October 2012 jobs report showing that 171,000 total nonfarm jobs were added and the unemployment rate was 7.9 percent:
“Today’s report marks the 32nd consecutive month of private sector job growth. While the economy is improving, ensuring that jobs continue to be created will require bipartisan work and compromise. I will remain focused on job creation and hope that in the coming months both Republicans and Democrats will come together to spur growth, tackle our debt and help American families prosper.”
