JEC Releases New Report on Trade Adjustment Assistance
New Report Details Benefits of TAA and Extension of Program
Today, the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released a new report that highlights the vital role Trade Adjustment Assistance plays in helping workers displaced by trade build skills and find new jobs. The report entitled, “The Importance of Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) for America’s Workers,” shows that the program effectively helps workers harmed by import competition and that those who receive assistance find lasting employment relationships.
Today, the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC) released the September 2011 edition of its state-by-state snapshots which detail each individual state’s economic progress for the previous month. The report shows that 19 states and the District of Columbia added jobs in the private sector in August, down from July, when 42 states and the District of Columbia posted private-sector job gains.
