Dems out with new report on Medicaid's benefits. The Joint Economic Committee Democrats' report touts the role of Medicaid in providing health coverage and economic security to individuals, the latest attempt to attack Republican-backed changes to the program.

The report aggregates data from several sources on Medicaid enrollment – with state-by-state data like the percentage of enrollees who are working — and its role in paying for treatment to combat opioid addiction, among other topics. “Medicaid is about more than just health care, it provides peace of mind and economic security for millions of people,” said Sen. Martin Heinrich, the committee’s top Democrat.
