JEC Chairman Heinrich: “Our Economy Continues to Grow and Families are Feeling the Benefits”

Washington, D.C.—Today, Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM), Chairman of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released the following statement after the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reported its initial estimate that second-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) expanded 2.8% on an annual basis.

“Our economy continues to grow and families are feeling the benefits. Because of Democrats’ policies, we’ve seen 41 months of record job growth. Wage growth is outpacing inflation and prices are coming down.

“There’s still work to be done, but our economy is on the right track. I’ll continue working with my colleagues on policies that will benefit American families and put money back into their pockets.”
