Statement from JEC Vice Chair Klobuchar on July 2013 Employment Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Vice Chair of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released the following statement on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ July 2013 jobs report showing that 162,000 total nonfarm jobs were added and the unemployment rate dropped from 7.6% to 7.4%:

“These numbers show positive growth in July but also underscore the need to do more to strengthen our economy. I will continue to focus on bipartisan policies to move our country forward such as reforming our immigration system, investing in infrastructure and education, and coming together on a balanced approach to debt reduction to ensure our country can continue to compete in the global economy and give businesses and families the certainty they need.”
