Individual Airport by Airport Analysis Will Show Average Delays Around the Country and Illustrate Widespread Delay Problems

Washington D.C.U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer, Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee (JEC), will hold a news conference this Thursday, May 22 2008 at 11:30 am in the Senate TV/Radio Gallery to release a new JEC report entitled “Your Flight Has Been Delayed Again:  Flight Delays Cost Passengers, Airlines, and the U.S. Economy Billions in 2007.”  This report, using flight by flight analysis from Department of Transportation data, will reveal the serious economic impact of frequent flight delays on passengers, airlines, and the whole U.S. economy.  Schumer will be joined by the Vice Chair of the JEC, Rep. Carolyn Maloney.
